Proposed Thurlestone Farm Shop and Community Car Park
Hello Everyone,
Following up on our earlier communications and our presentation at the village hall last summer, we’re delighted to share that the planning application for our proposed Farm Shop and Community Car Park is now live on the SHDC planning portal.
This marks an exciting milestone in our journey to create a vibrant, welcoming space that celebrates the best of our locally sourced produce, all set against the beautiful backdrop of our parish.
It’s no secret that recent months have posed significant challenges for many of our local farming families, particularly with evolving government policies impacting small businesses. Yet, in the face of adversity, we’ve seen resilience, innovation, and a renewed commitment to keeping local producers at the heart of our community.
Our vision also includes fostering stronger educational connections to local and seasonal food, inspiring the next generation to engage with nature and appreciate all the benefits it brings—from healthier eating habits to the mental wellbeing that comes from spending time in the great outdoors.
We invite you to review the plans and supporting documentation on the portal and would be incredibly grateful for any comments of support. You can view and submit your thoughts via the following link:

Ellie & Eric Stidston
