Writers!
Need a helping hand to achieve your publishing dreams? Look no further. My focus is on developing your skills as a writer and as an editor of your own work. I offer developmental editing, copy editing, proofreading, mentoring - any one or more of which might be perfect for you, depending on where you are along your writing journey. Looking for inspiration?
The Wednesday Writers Online offer a series of creative writing workshops to kickstart your writing and keep you ticking. Hosted by yours truly and presented by Kerry Hadley (PhD in Creative Writing), 10 workshops are scheduled for 2024 and you are welcome to join any/all that interest you.
Have an ongoing project or one you'd like to start/finish in 2024?
Each year, Nine Online offers 3 series of 3 online workshops in which I provide guidance on writing craft and, together, we review each others' work-in-progress. Commit to a single 'term'. Then take a break, work on your project on your own, and return for another term when you are ready.
Between times, we keep in touch via a Facebook group ... Finished draft of your work and need editorial guidance?
Depending on where you are on your publishing journey, I can offer one-on-one mentoring, including developmental editing, copy-editing and proofreading. My Kindle book RedPen Editing: 10 steps to successful self-editing explains my simple process for editing without overwhelm. As a first step, I recommend you buy that book. It's only £2.99! |
Via my RedPen Shop, I provide six online RedPen editing courses: Pruning; Punctuation; Balance; Dialogue; People Places and Props; and Word Choices.
I advocate the use of Scrivener as the best writing tool for writers and, as a Scrivener user myself, can support you throughout your writing journey.
I provide a free 14-day course and this can be supplemented (via the RedPen Shop) with one-on-one time with me for all your Scrivener queries. I host Writers' Retreat Weekends at the Cottage Hotel, Hope Cove each March and November.
The next one is 14-17 November 2024. Advance booking, especially of the accommodation is essential as places are limited. It's an opportunity to meet other writers face-to-face, and to learn about their writing journeys and from each other. Our sessions included discussions on writing topics pertinent to those present, and reading and reviewing each others' work-in-progress. |
